Victorian solar energy rebate increase

For homes, small businesses and community organisations in Victoria, reducing your carbon footprint is now more affordable than ever. By generating your own electricity through systems such as rooftop solar panels, the Victorian Government is now paying a new premium feed-in tariff of 60c per kWh.

On top of the Government’s solar energy rebate for Victoria, AGL and Powerdirect are offering eligible customers an extra 8 cents per kWh, bringing the total premium feed-in tariff to 68 cents per kWh - the highest of any electricity retailer in the State.

With the average price of systems becoming cheaper, and higher feed-in tariffs, solar energy systems in Victoria could start to pay for themselves quicker than before.

The Department of Primary Industries has set up a few case studies. You can view them by clicking here.

This is great news for Victorian solar energy customers, and as a leading renewable energy provider, we're proud to provide that extra incentive to make solar energy a reality.
