The Block goes Solar thanks to AGL

AGL are proud to be a supplier in the 2012 series of The Block on the Nine Network.

AGL donated and installed a solar system for each of the four houses in this year’s series. Producers for the 2012 series took the opportunity to incorporate innovative designs and eco-friendly products into the renovations of the properties on the corner of Montague and Dorcas Street, South Melbourne to ensure they met the highest standards in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability.

This year’s series contestants have confronted the biggest, toughest renovations in the show’s history. With barely a roof over their heads, no running water and dirt floors, the four teams have ten weeks to restore one of four dilapidated South Melbourne terraces that were built in the gold rush of the late 1800s.

AGL Solar worked with The Block's architect, Julian Brenchley, to assess the most appropriate solar solutions to suit the varying power needs of the four properties.

You too can go solar with AGL and you could reduce your energy bill, visit www.aglsolar.com.au to find out how.
