Queensland Solar Bonus Scheme
The Queensland Solar Bonus Scheme feed-in tariff will change from 44 cents per kW/h to 8 cents per kW/h for all customers who submit their new grid connection applications to their electricity distributor after midnight on 9 July 2012 and /or for those customers who do not meet the eligibility requirements of the Scheme.
Existing solar customers in Queensland will continue to receive 44 cents per kilowatt hour for excess energy exported to the electricity grid provided they maintain their eligibility for the Scheme.New customers wishing to access the 44 cent feed-in tariff rate must submit their completed grid connection application to AGL by:
- 9 am on 9 July 2012 (if your electricity distributor is Energex); or
- 5 pm on 6 July 2012 (if your electricity distributor is Ergon),
for submission to their distributor by midnight on 9 July 2012 and meet any other criteria for eligibility to the higher FiT. Customers have until 30 June 2013 to install the approved energy system inverter.
The 8 cent tariff under the scheme will begin on 10 July 2012, ending on 1 July 2014 subject to a review before July 2013.
