Environmentally friendly
In these environmentally conscious times, a solar energy system, once installed, is a clean, renewable energy source, which doesn’t create greenhouse gases.
Cost Effective
Solar energy is an effective way to supplement your daily electricity usage. The more solar electricity your solar energy system generates during the day, the less you have to buy from the electricity grid. There are also government incentives that may help with the cost of installation.
Efficient
If you don't use all the electricity your solar energy system generates, you can be credited on your electricity bills for the excess electricity your system feeds back into the electricity grid. The credit amount will depend on where you live.

New South Wales
A new AGL Solar Bonus Scheme will be available to all Gross and Net Metered customers from 1 January 2010. AGL will pay 68 cents per kWh for the electricity that customers feed into the grid. AGL’s NSW Solar Bonus Scheme is made up of two parts; the NSW Government scheme rebate of 60 cents per kWh. On top of this, AGL is adding an extra 8 cents per kWh above the Government scheme rebate.

Victoria
A new AGL Premium Solar Rebate will be available to all Net Metering customers from 1 November 2009. AGL will now pay 68 cents* per kWh for electricity that customers generate and don't use themselves. The increase is made up of two parts; the Victorian Government scheme rebate of 60 cents* per kWh. On top of this, AGL is adding an extra 8 cents* per kWh above the Government scheme rebate.
Eligible customers need to enter into a new contract before the rebate can be applied to their account. Please call 131 766 (8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday) to arrange this.

The new AGL Premium Solar Rebate will automatically be applied to all eligible accounts from 1 November 2009.
